You are visiting here because you know me, I sent you the link, and you wanted to see how you could support The Parkinson’s Resource. THANK YOU!
On September 8, 2019 there will be a 5K walk starting in beautiful Drake Park located near downtown Bend, Oregon. Ellen and I attended last years event. It was inspiring to see so many people support an organization dedicated to helping Parkinson’s patients. The walk provides funding to “The Parkinson’s Resource”. They provide education, personal support, and advocacy for a cure.
I’ve had Parkinson's for just over two years. I have a great support team around me. I have a neurologist, a nutritionist, a personal trainer, a physical therapist, and of course Ellen. All are helping me slow the progression and connecting me to the latest clinical trial results from all around the world. Most folks aren’t as lucky.
A neurologist told me that if everyone lived to 120, we’d all have it. The older we get the more likely you’ll know someone else that has it. There are thousands of people working on a cure but until then there a lots of newly diagnosed people that aren’t sure what to do or how to attack this disease.
If you’re free on September 8th, please join Ellen and I for a short walk. The more the better! If you can’t be here- take 10 minutes and walk around your block. If you can’t walk around the block- walk around your living room-but walk.Walk because it reminds us that many have trouble doing basic things we all take for granted.
Send whatever you can. I promise you that it’ll all be used wisely.I’ll match whatever everyone gives (up to $1,000 total). Everyone needs a tax deduction.
So. How do you help? Walk with me or make a donation. $10, $25, $50, or $500, whatever you are able to do! I've seen how PRO directs their funds to valuable services and encourage you to be as generous as you are able!
